Social commentator Dr. Samuel Lwara, has accused some members of the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) of insulting Bishop Martin Mtumbuka of the Diocese of Karonga in the Roman Catholic Church for standing with the people of Kasasire in Nkhatabay and shaming the MDF in front of their Commander in Chief, President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera.
In his speech in Mzuzu on Saturday, Bishop Mtumbuka accused MDF soldiers of displacing the people of Kasasire in Nkhatabay district describing the act displayed as cruel advising them that if they are strong enough they should go to Goma in the DRC to meet M23 rebels.
Bishop Mtumbuka said no one in this country including President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera is above the law saying Malawi has a democratically elected government which is serving the people and no one is allowed to impose extra judicial punishment to anybody.
Speaking through an audio clip, Dr. Samuel Lwara has claimed that President Chakwera is above the law in Malawi saying had it been he was within the law, he would have been the first person to condemn the soldiers him being their Commander in Chief.
Lwara said President Chakwera is not alone above the law claiming that his minister of Transport Jacob Hara lied to the nation by writing on his face book page that construction of the much awaited Chiweta road has started while on the ground, there is nothing, and President Chakwera has done nothing to him, he is still his minister.
He has reminded President Chakwera that he is in the office of the presidency today because of Catholic Bishops who speaks nothing but the truth saying in 1992 they wrote a Pastoral Letter which in the end brought the fruits of Referendum on the 14th June, 1993 and later multiparty democracy in Malawi in 1994.
The commentator said the MCP led by President Chakwera is repeating the very same mistakes made by its first president Ngwazi Dr. Hastings Kamuzu Banda of planning evil against Catholic Bishops advising the party that fighting against the Bishops will take them to nowhere.
He has assured Malawians that there is no way President Chakwera and his MCP can win the 16th September, 2025 elections saying the MCP must start preparing for their exit in government, Malawians don’t want them anymore in government.
“Malawians have already said enough is enough, even though MACRA chief Daud Suleiman is outside the country to learn rigging scheme, this will not work in Malawi, MCP is going out of government,” said Lwara.
He has warned the MCP that if they rig the 16th September, 2025 elections, Malawians will come out to declare that there is no government in their country and American President Donald Trump and other world leaders will be notified to take action against the dictatorial government in Malawi.
