In matters relating to motor vehicle fuel, Namiwa has stated that through a structured government-to-government fuel procurement arrangement, prices should ideally go down.

He argues that if the government is able to purchase fuel at a lower price through such a mechanism, it would help reduce the pump price for consumers.

According to Namiwa, the lowering of fuel prices would, in turn, help reduce the cost of goods on the market.

He points out that the prices of many goods and services are currently high largely due to the rising cost of fuel.

Namiwa believes that controlling fuel prices through strategic procurement would have a positive ripple effect across various sectors of the economy.

He emphasizes that fuel is a foundational component in the pricing of goods, as it affects transportation, production, and distribution costs.

Therefore, reducing fuel costs would be an effective strategy for addressing the broader economic challenges being faced by Malawians.

Namiwa concludes by urging the government to prioritize such procurement systems to deliver tangible economic relief to ordinary citizens.
