Rights activist Pastor Moses Shumba, says the promotion of Commissioner Noel Mlowoka Kayira to be Deputy Inspector General of Police has proved that God is God, God gives the way where there is no way.
Pastor Shumba said the forced transfer of Commissioner Kayira from Blantyre to Thyolo for committing no offence to Malawians only to the MCP led government for not commanding his officers to fire teargas to DPP protesters, angered God and has made it possible to be rewarded.
He said Commissioner Kayira is now Deputy Inspector General to Madam Yolamu who millions of Malawians are describing her as the worst Police Inspector General Malawi has ever produced since the dawn of multiparty politics and democracy in 1994.
Speaking through an audio clip, Pastor Shumba said many Malawians hoped that Commissioner Kayira has lost favors in the eyes of the MCP led government and nobody knows his future only God has revealed himself to him that he is God of the living not of the dead.
Pastor Shumba said Commissioner Kayira stood firm not to take orders from above from MCP politicians for his officers to disperse DPP members who camped outside Blantyre Police Station to make sure that Sameer Suleman not going anywhere outside Blantyre.
He said Commissioner Kayira has proved that in the Malawi Police Service (MPS) there are some police officers who are discharging their duties professionally and not the officers Malawians are seeing today, receiving orders from politicians on who to arrest.
The activist said Commissioner Kayira has good educational background and today, he has a Doctorate Degree expressing hope that if the same God who has promoted him to Deputy Inspector General continue promoting him further to Police Inspector General.
“If Commissioner Kayira will be Police Inspector General, police will no longer be the same as it is being seen today associated with party politics,” said Pastor Shumba.
He said it is sad that police officers today are not trusted in the same way as they were yesterday because of their involvement in MCP politics saying this has made many Malawians to associate Malawi Police Service to MCP police.
Pastor Shumba has pleaded with Mec Chairperson Justice Annabel Mtalimanja to have a listening ear filled with the holy spirit the damage Smartmatic machine has done in Zimbabwe, Mozambique and today, Philippines.
He said it is the wish of each and every Malawian to see to it that manual counting of votes should be applied as the previous elections saying if Mec is for Malawians, it will listen “NO” to Smartmatic machines and allow independent auditors audit the voters roll for the 16th September, 2025 elections to be free, fair, 44credible and transparent.
