President and Commander in Chief of Muvi wa Chilungamo Revolutionary Party (MRP) Bantu Saunders Jumah, says for 61 years of independence, Malawians have gone into sixth elections and is going to the 7th elections on the 16th September, 2025 without correcting past mistakes.
Jumah said the September, 2025 elections will be the decisive day for Malawians to correct past mistakes they have been committing for electing bad people in government for 61 years that this time they must reject to be political projects of politicians and be the priority.
He said that Malawians have not seen these politicians since 2019 elections and today, they are with them, eating and doing servant leadership jobs that they are good people advising Malawians to deny that they are not their project, they are the first priority.
Speaking through his voter and civic education campaign, Jumah said for 6 elections Malawians have been electing office bearers in constituencies, cities and towns but nothing has changed, they are the same as in 1964 saying the country has failed because politicians take citizens as their project.
Jumah said for 61 years, Malawi has failed to develop claiming that electricity is the shame, 500 megawatts from 1964 to 2025 where the country’s population has reached to over 22 million and the demand for electricity is growing each and every passing day.
He said it is sad that Malawi in 2025 has only 4000 Kilometers of bitumen roads, 3 central hospitals, most of the people in the rural areas are still living in grass-thatched roofed houses, and Malawi is a model of using a hoe during farming as in the old stone age period.
The MRP President said for 61 years, Malawi has been relying on tobacco as its major export, yet the country has precious minerals which are being extracted and exported in secret by politicians such as cannabis sativa (chamba) rubi, rutile and rear Earth, among others.
He said each and every government for the past 61years, has been preaching to end corruption and national rooting but all these have failed and instead, corruption has been a song sang by political parties on paper with no action to reverse the trend.
“For 61 years, the country does not have anything to sale apart from tobacco, yet Malawi is a sovereign country,” said Jumah.
He said Malawi has gone through various litmus tests for 61 years and patriotic Malawians are feeling pain in their hearts, independence is meaningless to them calling for change to open a new political chapter in the country.
Jumah said time has come for Malawians to stop to be politicians project but politicians’ priority lamenting that the country has a national debt of K17 trillion urging Malawians to go on the 16th September, 2025 elections with mindset change.
