Prophet Shepherd Bushiri of the Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG) — The Jesus Nation Church — has called on men to open up about the challenges that threaten their mental stability and overall well-being.
He made these remarks in Lilongwe during a special all-men conference titled Iron Man Get Together, an event designed to uplift men across various dimensions of life.
Bushiri emphasized that men often face silent battles that, when left unaddressed, can lead to emotional breakdowns and even loss of life.
He urged men to view these personal struggles not as signs of weakness, but as opportunities for building resilience, solidarity, and success.
According to him, it is time men embraced courage not just in work or leadership, but also in vulnerability — being honest and open about their inner pain.
Bushiri stressed the importance of teamwork in navigating life’s hardships, stating that success is rarely achieved in isolation.
The event served as a platform for deep conversations around mental health, emotional strength, business growth, and spiritual restoration.
In a show of practical support, Prophet Bushiri also awarded funding to ten top Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) ideas, signaling his commitment to empowering men economically.
This initiative reflects Bushiri’s broader vision of holistic upliftment — addressing spiritual, psychological, and financial needs.
Participants described the conference as transformational, with many applauding the prophet for addressing topics that are often considered taboo among men.
As mental health continues to be a growing concern in Malawi and globally, Bushiri’s message adds momentum to calls for more open dialogue and supportive spaces for men.
The Iron Man Get Together has thus positioned itself as a timely intervention, challenging traditional notions of masculinity and encouraging men to prioritize self-care and community support.
The success of the conference may inspire similar initiatives aimed at restoring the dignity, strength, and emotional balance of men across the nation.
