Former Blantyre City legislator and is now living in the United States of America (USA) Hon. Allan Ngumuya, has respectfully requested the DPP and UTM to join forces to remove President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera from power in the upcoming 16th September, 2025 elections.
Ngumuya said the key lies squarely in the hands of DPP and UTM to take it or leave it saying the responsibility is theirs to show Malawians that they love the citizens and want to rescue them from suffering.
He said silence and inaction on the two parties DPP and UTM will speak louder, revealing that they only care about themselves expressing his greatest hope and prayer that they take his advice to heart and act now to save Malawi observing that the opportunity is there but it depends entirely on their willingness.
Writing on his final message to Malawians until 16th September, 2025 elections, Ngumuya has stressed that there is only one clear path to triumph on the 16th September, 2025 and that path is humility saying if only the DPP can humble themselves and allow Dr. Dalitso Kabambe to lead the Alliance, the political battle will be won within hours, this is a painful truth.
Ngumuya said Dr. Kabambe is the only candidate who stands out in terms of articulating a clear and visionary manifesto saying having Dr. Kabambe as the presidential candidate will both serve and save the Malawians at the grassroots level.
He said refusing to act in this way will only demonstrate that these politicians care more about their personal interests than the welfare of Malawians that would be great tragedy saying with sincerity, he has proposed that the hardliners both from DPP and UTM to sit down in serious dialogue.
The US based Ngumuya said this conversation must be bold, strategic and patriotic with the aim of arriving at a meaningful and people-centered agreement suggesting a joint committee to facilitate this discussion.
“From the DPP Hons. Mukhitho, Namalomba, Mwamvekha, Navicha, Suleiman, Dr. Chaponda, Msaka, Gangata, Jappie Mhango and Mzomera Ngwira, from the UTM, Hons. Willet Kalonga, Dr. Patricia Kaliati, Masangwi, Kambala, Dr. Mtumbuka, Catherine Mzumara, Makondi, Salambula, Njawala and Msusa,” reads the suggestion list from Ngumuya.
He has respectfully requested this committee to nominate Dr. Dalitso Kabambe as the torchbearer for the 16th September, 2025 elections claiming that Dr. Kabambe has never disappointed the DPP, he is a man with a compassionate heart, he has never forgotten those who mentored and helped him reach the level he is at today.
Ngumuya said Dr. Kabambe worked closely with both Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika and his brother the late Professor Bingu Wa Mutharika and they never had any issues, he has shown unwavering respect for APM and former first lady Getrude Mutharika, and this respect continues to this day.
He said Dr. Kabambe always speaks highly on APM in public and private forums, he is a man of high integrity, a fact that even APM acknowledges, appealing to the DPP from his depth of his heart to let the UTM be their light at the end of the tunnel on the 16th September, 2025 to unity and victory praying that it is in the hands of the DPP and UTM, with Dr. Dalitso Kabambe as the unified candidate.
