A Malawi Congress Party (MCP) diehard of Mvera in Dowa district Mr. Rodgers Kamphanagala, says he has graduated from being known as MCP diehard to the voiceless citizen to join all those that are speaking for the voiceless citizens in Malawi.
Kamphangala said his decision has been arrived at following his five years of advising President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera to do better for Malawians to take the MCP as a transformative one and not notorious as it was during the reign of Ngwazi Dr. Hastings Kamuzu Banda.
He said him just like many Malawians, thought that the coming in of President Chakwera into government would transform the MCP from being the party painted with bad records to a bon-again record.
The MCP diehard said ever since he has been advising the MCP and President Chakwera to do better, none of his advises reached President Chakwera for him to correct the mistakes his inner circle was driving him to.
He said he was not alone on the line of those advising President Chkwera to do better in his leadership claiming that Isaiah Emmanuel Sunganimoyo did the same and he was tired of his advises not reaching President Chakwera.
Kamphangala said Sunganimoyo instead of being loved by the MCP that he was advising the party to do better not the MCP to be as that of Kamuzu Banda which used to throw its critics into the River Shire as crocodile meat, he has been made to be enemy number one of the MCP.
He said he and Sunganimoyo tried their level best in advising the MCP not to take Malawians to the old MCP of Kamuzu Banda but they have failed, advising MCP members and supporters not to clap their hands at nonsense.
He has warned MCP supporters that if it happens the MCP and President Chakwera loses the 16th September, 2025 elections, the party is risked to be deregistered in the county claiming that Malawians will do their best to see the MCP not existing on the ground.
He said it is sad that after Malawians made a declaration in 1994 that never and ever shall the country go back to a one-party state and dictatorship, some senior members of the MCP have taken the country back to one-party state dictatorship.
“The story of panga wielding thugs has sent a strong message that MCP is a party which cannot change, MCP cannot be proved that it is championing peace but inciting violence in the country,” said Kamphangala.
He has assured MCP family that just like Isaiah Emmanuel Sunganimoyo, he is still a diehard member of the MCP and he remain an MCP member saying he did not join the MCP but was born MCP from the family of MCP blood.
