Rights activist Pastor Moses Shumba, has teared apart the 2025 Malawi Congress Party (MCP) manifesto describing it as shame and a total disgrace to the nation saying this was evidenced with many people walking out f the Bingu stadium while speeches were being made.
Pastor Shumba said party manifestos brings joy to the supporters by listening to the content of what their parties have e on the table to implement in 5 years of power but the MCP manifesto is the different one, there interest is to bounce back into power.
He has reminded the MCP of the failed and broken 2020 manifesto claiming that not even one agenda has the party fulfilled except living Malawians in pain and suffering with millions of people regretting for voting President Chakwera and the MCP into office.
Speaking through an audio clip, Pastor Shumba said the MCP failed to honor the promise of giving out K15,000 each to the elderly from 65 years and above questioning it how they are going to pay K500,000 to newly born babies?
Pastor Shumba said it is shame to see hospitals running without essential drugs, patients are being sent back home to buy medicines in pharmacies and the MCP is coming with a broad-day light lie, that it will be giving K500,000 to new –born babies, describing this as nonsense.
He has asked the MCP and President Chakwera that if what is written in their manifesto was planned to woo support to be voted back into government, then, they have to go back to the drawing board to reframe the manifesto.
The activist said he expected President Chakwera to speak as a man to accept the mistakes he has been making in government that have made the citizens to lose trust in him for a renewed commitment so that if there be a chance to bounce back into government, the mistakes will be for yesterday.
He has claimed that President Chakwera’s leadership has made Malawians not to be safe in their country as they are being hacked, terrorized, intimidated and threatened by his party’s thugs in full view of police and MDF officers.
“If Malawians are being hacked in full view of law enforcers, the country cannot claim that security of people is being prioritized,” said Pastor Shumba.
He has appealed to peace-loving Malawians to vote for Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika on the 16th September, 2025 elections to liberate the country from the shackles of the MCP dictatorship and efforts to bring the country back to one-party state.
The activist said Malawians have tried and seen Chakwera’s leadership, it is not leadership at all hence to bring back the proven leadership from the 16th September, 2025 elections appealing to patriotic Malawians to give no vote for President Chakwera, MCP parliamentarians and councilors.
Pastor Shumba has finally thanked Professor Mutharika for paving way to President Chakwera to rule the country and has failed on his own, saying Malawians have underline in their hearts that never and ever President Chakwera shall be given another chance to destroy the country in the way he has done for 5 years.
