”Plot to Split DPP Votes”: Bright Msaka Blasts Rival Parties at Mangochi Rally

By Suleman Chitera, Mangochi, Malawi

Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Vice President for the Eastern Region, Bright Msaka, has come out swinging, accusing rival political parties of secretly funding smaller candidates to weaken the DPP’s chances in the upcoming presidential election.

Speaking to a charged crowd at Chimbende Primary School in Mangochi, Msaka claimed that a certain political party is dishing out cash to “briefcase parties” and independent candidates in a bid to divide the vote on September 16.

“Some of these small parties were given money just to compete with us and split the vote. But can they really win? The only party forming government on September 16 is the DPP,” declared Msaka, drawing loud cheers from supporters.

Msaka’s explosive remarks add fire to an already heated political atmosphere as election day draws near.

Joining the rally was Overton Imedi, the DPP parliamentary candidate for the Northern Eastern constituency of Mangochi. He told supporters that local residents are ready to vote for real change after years of hardship.

“People here have suffered long enough. They are ready to take back their future,” said Imedi.

With campaign momentum growing, the DPP is positioning itself as the party to beat—while warning voters to watch out for “political decoys” designed to sabotage the race.
