Ali Idi Ready to Transform Mangochi Masongola: “My Manifesto is the Key to Real Change”

By Suleman Chitera

Ali Idi, who is contesting as an independent candidate for the Mangochi Masongola parliamentary seat, says his manifesto is the only solution that can bring lasting development to the area.

Speaking after submitting his nomination papers to the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) at Masongola TDC today, Idi said the constituency has been sidelined for far too long when it comes to development, and he wants to change that.

“Our area has been left behind for a very long time. My manifesto focuses on the things that people need in their everyday lives: education, healthcare, agriculture, and economic empowerment for women,” said Idi with confidence.

He highlighted that he had already started promoting early childhood education and plans to scale up the initiative if elected. On healthcare, he pledged to build more health centers so that people can access medical services without difficulty.

But that’s not all. Idi emphasized that women’s economic empowerment is one of his top priorities:

“We are helping women to start small businesses. We will provide training and resources to help them grow and become financially independent.”

He also pledged to provide fertilizer to local farmers, saying this would boost agricultural productivity and help ensure food security in the area.

“We are already starting to register names, and this fertilizer support is not just a promise — it’s real,” Idi assured.

He called on the people of Mangochi Masongola to vote wisely and choose a leader based not on party affiliation or false promises, but on real solutions and commitment to development.

Meanwhile, MEC official Samuel Manyamba confirmed that seven aspiring candidates have so far submitted their nomination papers for the September 16, 2025 election — a race that has already captured the attention of many in the constituency.

Ali Idi has entered the race not as a spectator, but as a man on a mission to bring transformation. The question remains: Will Mangochi Masongola give him the chance to deliver?
