The Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) is gearing up for a major political moment this Sunday as it launches its much-anticipated manifesto in Blantyre, marking the official kickoff of its campaign ahead of the hotly contested September elections.
DPP Secretary General Peter Mukhito says the party is ready to deliver what it has “in its pockets” to the people of Malawi—offering a blueprint of practical, deliverable promises aimed at reviving the nation.
“Our manifesto will outline realistic and achievable goals. We are ready to walk the talk and offer real solutions to Malawians,” said Mukhito confidently.
The event is set to bring together a power trio—party president and presidential candidate Peter Mutharika, his running mate Jane Ansah, and AFORD leader Enoch Chihana—in a show of political unity and momentum.
With this launch, the DPP becomes the third political force to unveil its manifesto, following the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) and People’s Party (PP).
As the campaign trail heats up, all eyes will be on the DPP’s promises—and whether they can convince voters that the party deserves another shot at leading the nation.
