A voice of the voiceless citizen of Malawi from Mvera in Dowa district Mr. Rodgers Kamphangala, has congratulated Engineer Vitumbiko Mumba for being President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera’s running mate for the 16th September, 2025 elections.
Kamphangala has welcomed Mumba into the family of the MCP as Chakwera’s running mate saying MCP members have high expectations in him that he will bring positive changes in the MCP and if God allows the country as its Vice President.
He said soon after his name was announced as President Chakwera’s running mate, there was loud cheer from the crowds speaking for itself that Vitumbiko Mumba is a darling of many in the MCP and also opposition members.
The citizen has reminded Mumba that he was a rejected stone by the MCP National Executive Committee (NEC) right from the elective convention to his Mzimba Central Constituency but God above the heaven has brought him back in a special way as Chakwera’s running mate.
Kamphangala has reported to Mumba that ever since President Chakwera was elected into government in June, 2020 he has been running the country with a bunch of advisors who were planning and have been planning for his downfall.
He said President Chakwera has been seen making indecisive decisions even forgetting what he told Malawians citing austerity measures not for his own wish but he was being advised wrongly and this has made the entire 22 million plus citizens in Malawi to lose trust in him.
The citizen has asked Mumba to tell President Chakwera nothing but the truth that Malawians have lost trust in him claiming that he was being fed with lies and this made him to speak lies and no wonder, he is being described as the most lying President.
He has praised Mumba as the one to correct matters in the MCP for President Chakwera to be seen now as a trusted president in the eyes of all Malawians regardless of their political party affiliations expressing hope that with a month to go before the country will hold the much-anticipated elections, the members lost trust will be back.
“All Malawian eyes are on you Engineer Vitumbiko Mumba to correct President Chakwera from continuing doing mistakes in government and win back trust of the people,” said Kamphangala.
However, Kamphangala has advised Mumba that his choice as Chakwera’s running mate has not pleased some people in the party observing that being an intruder in the party, not all who will come to dine with him are good friends.
