The Democratic Progressive Party (DPP)’s youth director for the central-eastern region of Malawi, Norman Chisale, has made a bold promise to the people of Ntcheu.
Speaking after submitting his nomination papers to contest as a Member of Parliament (MP) for a constituency located in central-east Ntcheu, Chisale declared that if elected, he will not personally take any salary.
He stated that all his earnings as an MP will be directed towards community development projects.
Specifically, Chisale pledged to build houses in every village group area within the constituency.
He emphasized that his commitment is not a mere campaign gimmick, but a sincere sacrifice to ensure tangible change in his area.
“I will not receive any MP salary. I will use my own income to construct houses in the village group areas,” Chisale said.
His statement was made in front of community members and supporters who gathered to witness his official declaration under the DPP banner.
The ambitious pledge has stirred both admiration and curiosity across political circles and within Ntcheu itself.
It marks one of the clearest examples of a candidate committing to selfless service ahead of the September 16 elections.
Should he win, voters and political observers alike will be watching closely to see if Norman Chisale lives up to his development-first promise.
