The African Human Trust (AHT) has stepped in to address a pressing need for proper worship spaces in rural Malawi, unveiling a newly built mosque in Chaposa Village, Machinga, that will accommodate over 400 people.

AHT Operations Manager, Ibrahim Ojess, said the organization acted after villagers requested support, explaining that the community had been praying in a dilapidated structure.

“We saw it wise to help because people here deserved a dignified place of worship,” Ojess said, while urging locals to take good care of the facility.
Group Village Headman Chaposa hailed the development, calling it a milestone for his community.
“We are grateful, but we also appeal for a madrasa and an early childhood school alongside this mosque,” he said, pledging to ensure the facility benefits everyone in the area.
