Ahead of the September 16th tripartite elections, Ernest Mtemweka Chirambo, President of One Youth One Voice Malawi, is encouraging youths to vote for leaders who have demonstrated the potential to positively impact their well-being.
Fresh from a working visit to Scotland, One Youth One Voice Malawi President Ernest Mtemweka Chirambo addressed his team in Mzuzu on Wednesday, emphasizing the need to sustain their efforts in organizing activities that will drive the country’s future prosperity.
“We must support leaders with a clear vision for Malawi. Beyond the Malawi Vision 2063 and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, our focus should also be on a leader’s ability to drive socio-economic growth through dynamic wisdom,” said Chirambo.

Senior Advisor for One Youth One Voice, Shaggy Mlanga hailed Chirambo for returning home at the crucial when youths and women in needs proper guidance on whom to vote for in line with the global ‘Youth Decide’ movements.
Shaggy Mlanga, Senior Advisor for One Youth One Voice, praised Chirambo’s timely return, saying it coincides with a critical period when youths and women require direction on voting decisions, aligning with the principles of the ‘Youth Decide’ movement.
“There’s still a long way to go and a lot of work to be done to empower the youth to become productive citizens, not just in Malawi, but in the global community as a whole,” said Mlanga.
Some of the organization’s flagship programs, as highlighted by Mlanga, include counseling for youth empowerment, combating substance abuse, addressing unwanted pregnancies, and promoting sustainable and innovative technologies.
Despite youths constituting a significant portion of Malawi’s population, their voices often go unheard due to inadequate representation in leadership positions.
