A Malawi Congress Party (MCP) diehard of Mvera in Dowa district Mr. Rodgers Kamphangala, has backed the call made by DPPs national Director of Women Mary Thom Navicha advising Immigration officers to be alert on senior government officials, Directors and politicians of the ruling MCP from going outside the country.
Kamphangala said Malawians have suffered and are continuing suffering hence there is no good reason that those that have brought miseries to millions of Malawians be given space to run away to outside the country but, they should live together with the suffering people.
Navicha blasts MEC over exorbitant nomination fees
Speaking during a DPP Press Briefing held in Blantyre, DPP national Director of Women Affairs Mary Thom Navicha said it is very pathetic that prices of maize have gone up beyond the reach of the poor people in Malawi observing that this maize is not coming from outside the country.
Navicha has claimed that the maize which is being sold at exorbitant prices was grown by MCP members through Mega farms loans from NEEF amounting to billions of Kwachas saying it is sad the maize from MCPs mega farms is being sold at K95,000 per bag in her constituency.
She said even in Parliament, she asked Minister of Agriculture Sam Dalitso Kawale to come up with a list of those who have benefited from NEEF loans for mega farms but members on the government side defended government for a no response speaking for itself that MCP people are for the country’s mega farms.
The DPP Women Director said MCP individuals were receiving 100 to 150 bags of fertilizer with government providing transport to their respective houses, some were claiming to have gardens of 50 and 100 hactares and others only received the bags of fertilizer and put them on sale.
The age bill conundrum: A genuine concern or a ploy to bar Mutharika?
She said it is sad again hearing from the mouth of President Chakwera that he has reduced prices of fertilizers for commercial farmers to K90,000 and for subsidy K15,000 but the big question remains, where is the maize from the MCP touted mega farms?
Navicha has claimed that MCP politicians have grown maize from their mega farms pleading with them to feel mercy with their fellow Malawians that are starving with nothing to eat in their respective houses and have no hope for a better tomorrow.
“MCP and President Chakwera, you are going out of government on the 16th September, God is not on your side, you have been dishing out K2000s, K50,000s to buy votes from those sleeping with empty stomachs,” she said.
Kamphangala has assured the MCP and President Chakwera that God above the Heavens is not happy with the way they have been treating innocent souls, the people have cried to you for help but you did not hear their cries, Judgement Day will be on the 16th September, elections.
