Muslim Association of Malawi Urges New Government to Unite Nation After Elections

The Muslim Association of Malawi (MAM) has called on the newly elected government of President-Elect Professor Peter Mutharika to prioritize unity and inclusivity in sharing the national cake following the just-ended 2025 Malawi presidential elections.Malawians accuses PAC of coming too late that Chakwera has failed

Speaking to Radio Islam, MAM’s Publicity Secretary, Sheikh Dinala Chabulika, emphasized that the overwhelming 56.8% landslide victory secured by Professor Mutharika is proof that Malawians, regardless of region, are united in their vision for progress.

“The voting pattern is a clear testimony that Malawians are one. It is now time for the leadership to build the country and treat every Malawian equally,” said Sheikh Chabulika.

He further urged the new administration to ensure that development projects, resources, and opportunities are distributed fairly across all regions of Malawi, without favoritism.

On the relationship between the Muslim community and the incoming administration, Sheikh Chabulika expressed optimism. He described the Mutharika government as one of the few administrations in Malawi’s democratic history that has treated Muslims with dignity and respect.

He noted that MAM expects the new leadership to continue fostering inclusivity, religious tolerance, and equal opportunities for all citizens.

Call for Unity and Development

MAM also called on Malawians to remain peaceful and supportive of their leaders to ensure that Malawi moves forward as one united nation.
