Kalindo trashes 8 day’s transition period.

By Vincent Gunde

Political activist Bon Kalindo has trashed the 8 day’s transition period the Government of Malawi adopted to be observed before the new President takes Oath of office saying the law is good to the developing countries not Malawi.

Kalindo said a lot has happened within the 8 day’s transition period claiming that officers working at the State House found a chance to loot property which include curtains, plates and spoons and left water taps running at nobody’s care.

He said the 8 day’s transition saw officers cutting down trees and hunting animals around the State House saying all this could have been avoided if the country was using the previous laws where the winning President is Sworn-in within two days after being declared the winner.

Kalindo has appealed to Members of Parliament to re-look at this law so that it reverts back to the previous one without any amendment, expressing hope that parliamentarians will take the issue as a priority in their deliberations.

Speaking through an audio clip, Kalindo has praised the decision of closing NEEF offices claiming that this is the institution where politicians of the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) and those supporting Boma ndilomweli silikuchoka have benefited more than the country itself.

Kalindo has asked the new government of Professor Mutharika to make sure that all those that benefited from NEEF have repaid back to government for what they stole observing that other people’s names appearing on the sheets are being claimed to have received the loans while not.

He has pleaded with government to assist newly recruited teachers posted to the remotest areas of the country saying many of these teachers signed GP 1 forms but it has taken two months, their salaries have turned into an anthill.

The activist said most of these newly recruited teachers have no maize flour, in areas where they have been posted, they have nowhere to go to beg for food and government is waiting these teachers to impart knowledge to children.

“Two months no salary, what will newly recruited teachers be doing in the rural areas where they are teaching? Questioned Kalindo.

He has finally requested government to improve welfare of inmates observing that prisons are there for reformation not deathtrap address water challenges in the prisons across the country to prevent water-borne diseases.

  1. Haha, Kalindo is really laying it on thick today! Salaries turned into an anthill? Sounds like someone needs to check their own GP1 form! And prisons are deathtraps? Maybe the inmates should focus on reform *before* demanding better water! Cant wait for the governments response to this masterclass in urgent requests.quay random
