Political activist Bon Kalindo, has advised the country’s political leaders not to take citizens for granted saying the 16th September, 2025 general elections have drawn lessons to the MCP and President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera that citizens are powerful than them.

Kalindo said President Chawera has for 5 years of his leadership been deceived by those surrounding him that Malawians are rallying behind him as evidenced with large crowds attending his rallies not knowing that those patronizing Chakwera’s rallies had different agendas.Limpopo FM wishes Mutharika all the best on his inauguration

He said some other people deceived President Chakwera to buy a machine (Smartmatic) which will be used to rig the votes for him to bounce back into government claiming that K10 billion was spent for a machine which has failed to serve their hidden agenda.

Speaking through an audio clip, Kalindo has praised the speech which was made by President- Elect Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika during his inauguration ceremony at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre praying that if the speech can be implemented in the way the writer has written, Malawi will move forward not backward.

Kalindo has noted with a great concern that Malawi has good policies for developing the country but the challenge is on implementation that some people surrounding the President are the ones who mislead him advising President Mutharika to move with the people that voted for him not those surrounding him.

He said in President Mutharika’s speech, he stressed that Malawi is one country, Malawi does not belong to any person and any tribe observing that this is what destroyed President Chakwera, the Chewas felt that they are above Malawi because the President is one of them.

The activist has congratulated Norman Chisale, Alfred Gangata and Professor Mutharika’s security team for working together advising them to continue doing the same for Malawians to feel the difference between MCP and DPP in their leadership styles.

He said the inauguration ceremony of Professor Mutharika saw police officers not lining up in the streets as the case before and there was no traffic jam saying this was observed with Mutharika’s convoy moving from Kamuzu stadium to Nyambadwe and from Nyambadwe to Mount Soche Hotel where there was a presidential luncheon to the visiting Heads of Government.

“You have started well, continue doing the same, leave police officers alone to be working in other equally important security matters and not letting them lining up on the roads for 10 hours waiting for the President to pass through,” said Kalindo.

He has appealed to the DPP to stick to their manifesto to make sure that all of what is there is implemented and appealed to the party’s youth Directorate not to form armed groups of panga knives as the case with the MCP.

Kalindo has finally appealed to all Malawians to work together to see what the new government has prepared for them saying this is the time to support government projects, the time of politics have all gone to bed with President Chakwera and the MCP.
