Kalindo distances himself from HRDC planned demos

Political activist Bon Kalindo, has distanced himself from news circulating in various media platforms that he is part and parcel of the Human Rights Defenders Coalition (HRDC) planned demonstrations to force President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika implement promises made.

In the run-up to the general elections, President Professor Mutharika was assuring the people that soon after his elections into office on the 16th September, 2025 he will introduce free secondary school education but to this day, nothing is being seen, secondary school students are still paying school fees.

The Human Rights Defenders Coalition (HRDC) has rose up from the grave after 6 years of silence while eating honey and milk from President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera and his MCP announcing to the general public that it will organize a series of demonstrations in the country against Professor Mutharika’s unfulfilled promises.

Speaking through an audio clip, Kalindo has advised the HRDC to take out his name from the group claiming that for 6 years, he was being arrested by police for 12 times and at no time, the HRDC stood up condemn the MCP government and Police for arresting him.

Kalindo said it is sad that the same HRDC which played a part in the ousting from power of Professor Mutharika will be demonstrating in the streets against the same DPP describing this as a threat to national security.

He has questioned the HRDC that they are going to the road for what? Claiming that for 6 years of President Chakwera, Malawians have sailed through various degrees of pain and sufferings but the HRDC was clapping hands for “Boma ndilomweli silikuchoka.

The activist said he was born with principles and he loves Malawi assuring the citizens that he cannot work with the HRDC saying he has trusted partners to work with in the names of Comrade Lytone Mangochi, Bakili Muluzi TV, Pastor Moses Shumba, Comrade Ntanyiwa, and Sylvester Namiwa, among others.

“I don’t work with fake activists, and HRDC, I work with the Malawi First, if it is to work with partners, please HRDC hands off- Bon Kalindo.

He said if Bon Kalindo is to take part in the demonstrations, it will be for circumstances surrounding the tragic death of Dr. Saulosi Klaus Chilima and eight others, in the Chikangawa forest only if President Professor Mutharika is being seen running away from instituting credible investigations.

Kalindo has advised all those planning to hold demonstrations against President Professor Mutharika that even though he won the elections, there is no budget for him saying his budget is the one which is coming with the newly elected Members of Parliament (MPS).
