Political activist Bon Kalindo, has urged the newly appointees Inspector General of Police Richard Luhanga to institute a commission of inquiry on the deported Burundian and Rwandan nationals saying there are claims that they did not arrive in their respective countries of origin.

Kalindo said research which was conducted by Malawi First have revealed that the deported Burundian and Rwandan nationals were robbed of their cash, property confiscated, and reported to have been deported a claim which only prudent and credible investigation will prove to be true.

He said there are some individuals and police officers who are millionaires over a night and they have built mansions in towns contrary to the salaries they are receiving per month suspecting their source of wealth to have come from deported foreign nationals.

Speaking through an audio clip, Kalindo said the deported foreign nationals left their families here in Malawi and have been in contact with their friends and relatives in their countries of origin enquiring about them but they received no communication that they arrived in their countries.

Kalindo said the families of the deported foreign nationals are suspecting foul play from the government of the MCP which was headed by President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera that he owes the Rwandan and Burundian nationals an explanation on the whereabouts of the deported family members.

“The Rwandans and Burundians are our partners in development for the country to move forward hence urging the Inspector General of Police to come in swiftly to investigate the missing persons,” he said.

Kalindo has reported to the new Inspector General of Police that the former IG Marylyn Nachulu Yolamu lied to the nation that police arrested 8 suspected Mec constituency tally centres clerks in Lilongwe East suspected of manipulating figures for the 16th September, 2025 elections.

He said investigations on the ground proved that no one was arrested by Police meaning that Madam Yolamu lied to the country under her Oath of office demanding the new Inspector General to institute an investigation for the truth to prevail.

The activist said the allegation that 8 suspected Mec clerks were arrested by police was a well- planned scheme by the MCP through some police officers as an entry point for war to start war in Malawi on the basis that DPP has stolen the elections.

He has warned the new Inspector General of Police that failure to institute Police commission of inquiries on the matters as reported to him, Malawians that lost hope and trust with the Malawi Police Service, will be provoked and hence losing trust in him.
