
Chaos in Sorgin as former President Mutharika addresses crowds in Nsanje

Hundreds of people gathered in Sorgin, Nsanje District, creating a scene of commotion as they demanded to hear from former President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika before he could proceed with his journey. The large crowd insisted that the former Head of State address them, chanting and blocking his motorcade until their request was fulfilled.
In response, Mutharika obliged and spoke to the enthusiastic crowd, delivering a message of encouragement. He urged them to ensure they register for the ongoing voter registration exercise being conducted in Nsanje and Chikwawa districts.

“Your vote is your voice,” Mutharika emphasized. “Let us all take this opportunity to register and prepare for the upcoming elections. Together, we can shape the future of our beloved nation.”
The event demonstrated Mutharika’s continued influence and popularity in the Southern Region, as locals rallied to hear his words of inspiration. The former president’s call to action underscores the importance of civic engagement and participation in strengthening Malawi’s democracy.
Authorities overseeing the voter registration exercise have also echoed Mutharika’s message, urging eligible citizens to register and ensure their participation in next year’s elections.
