The much-anticipated Lilongwe Bridge is scheduled to officially open on 6 November, marking a significant step in improving the city’s road network and easing traffic flow for thousands of commuters. The project is being highlighted as one of the key infrastructure developments initiated in 2019 during the tenure of Hon. Joseph Mwanamvekha as Minister of Finance, under the leadership of former President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika.

The bridge, which forms part of a broader infrastructure expansion program, was designed to support economic growth by improving transportation efficiency within the capital city. Many stakeholders view this achievement as a reflection of long-term planning and visionary leadership.
