Former Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) who later was serving as Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Homeland Security in the Chakwera’s led Malawi Congress Party (MCP) government Dr. Steve Kayuni, has been reported to have sneaked out of the country quietly through Mchinji border post to Zambia using an African Union (AU) passport.
The sneaking out of the country by Dr. Kayuni has been made after Prophet Shephered Bushiri sued him in court over the death of his eight year- old daughter- Israella died after Dr. Kayuni issued an injunction to block the innocent daughter from travelling to Kenya for urgent medical treatment.
Deputy Minister of Homeland Security in the new government of the DPP Norman Paulosi Chisale, has also taken Dr. Steve Kayuni to court over the way he treated him, his family and children in the 5 years of President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera and the MCP government.
Questions have been ignited over the way how Dr. Steve Kayuni managed to obtain an African Union passport that helped him to pass Mchinji border post to Zambia from where he has been reported to have boarded a plane to Ethiopia.
Bakili Muluzi TV online television station has appealed to the new government of the DPP to make thorough research on how Dr. Kayuni obtained an African Union passport- the passport which is not accepted in Malawi and Zambia and is only used in Mali, Niger and Rwanda.
The TV station said Dr. Steve Kayuni has a good working relationship with Rwandan President Paul Kagame dismissing claims that he has run out of the country afraid of the cases which Prophet Bushiri and Norman Chisale have filed in the Malawi courts.
He said the truth of the matter is that Dr. Kayuni has run away on issues connecting with panga wielding thugs who some of them are in the hands of police and there is a strong evidence that Some Rwandan soldiers were offered opportunities to run businesses in Malawi supporting the MCP government, and supporting panga wielding thugs including procuring illegal guns and pangas.
The activist said Dr. Steve Kayuni deported Vincent Murekeshi and other prominent Rwandan business people to their countries of origin, after allegedly received 2.5 million US Dollars from Kagame to be abusing the Rwandans living in the country.
He said Dr. Kayuni is also been suspected to have ordered police officers who are arrested allegedly in connection with the theft of K30 million and K200 million from shops owned by Rwandans in Salima, and other areas in Malawi in the name of their relocation exercise to Dzaleka Camp in Dowa district.
Bakili Muluzi TV said Dr. Steve Kayuni had no ordinary and Diplomatic passport saying it is strange that he has an African Union passport which no president in Malawi can claim to have it a development linking Dr. Kayuni to a series of atrocities in Malawi committed by him.
“Dr. Kayuni has been working hand in hand with MCP panga wielding thugs, Rwandan soldiers procuring pangas and guns to MCP youth operatives and at the time of Dr. Saulosi Chilima’s plane crash, he was Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Homeland Security,” he said.
It has also been allegedly reported that Rwandan nationals who were deported to their country by the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) led government of President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera never reached their country- here is a possibility that they murdered in Malawi.
According to Bakili Muluzi TV narration of Dr. Steve Kayuni, he has acquired two houses in Ethiopia and his wife is living there describing him as one of the country’s national security threat as he is possessing a passport which is not accepted in many African countries but has used it to fly to Ethiopia.
