The official channel clarifies its presence on social media, urging followers to be wary of imposters and scams.

Bakili Muluzi TV has issued a strong warning on its official Facebook page, alerting followers to the proliferation of fake social media pages and WhatsApp groups claiming association with the platform.

In a post titled “CHENJEZO!” (Warning), the channel clarified that it has only one official Facebook page and does not operate through any agents. Any other pages seen on Facebook are unauthorised, and Bakili Muluzi TV has no connection with them.

The statement also addressed fake WhatsApp groups claiming to represent the platform, emphasizing that Bakili Muluzi TV does not run any WhatsApp group. The channel accused the imposters of attempting to deceive the public for personal gain.

“Ma page athu alipo atatu okha. Pa YouTube tili ndi ma subscribers more than 200,000. Ku Facebook 591,000 komanso Telegram 18,000,” the post highlighted, confirming the platform’s verified presence across social media channels.

The post further clarified that Bakili Muluzi TV does not publish news in English. Any posts seen in English claiming to be from the channel are the work of imposters, often linked to individuals seeking attention or political mileage within the Malawi Congress Party (MCP).

The message concluded with a reminder to followers to remain vigilant and rely only on official sources for updates.

“HISTORY IS THE BEST TEACHER,” the post read, underscoring the importance of learning from past misinformation campaigns.
