Bakili Muluzi TV online television station, has accused the Human Rights Defenders Coalition (HRDC) of reporting the new government of the DPP and President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika to the United Nations (UN) that he is violating the rights of the citizens.
Bakili Muluzi TV said it is sad that the HRDC has reported the new government to the United Nations with President Professor Mutharika clocking 2 months in office wondering what motive do they have to tarnish the image of the new government in Malawi.
He has noted with a grave concern that for 5 years of President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera, the HRDC chose to remain quiet when Malawians were crying aloud but President Chakwera did not hear their cries- HRDC members were clapping hands for this.
The activist said it is not surprising to note that the HRDC has written the UN reporting of the DPP human rights abuses today, because they are afraid that the new government will institute investigations of the sources of funds the organization is getting for holding demonstrations in Malawi.
He said Malawians trusted the HRDC to lead in the 2019 violent demonstrations saying the political environment today is different that Malawians cannot be forced to go to the streets to demonstrate against the DPP led government while knowing pretty well that behind the HRDC, there is MCP supporting them.
Bakili Muluzi TV said Gift Trapence and Michael Kaiyatsa are all MCP agents, they have nothing to tell Malawians that President Professor Mutharika has failed to govern the country while the same, were watching President Chakwera and his MCP destroying the country.
He said when Sylvester Namiwa was hacked by MCP panga wielding thugs, the HRDC claimed that Namiwa supports the DPP meaning that the organization was supporting terrorism activities of the MCP and they were all quiet.
The activist said when the MCP was procuring fertilizer in a butchery, pharmacy, NOCMA saga, panga wielding thugs hacking and terrorizing people, the Bridgin Foundation, the HRDC was there watching but without action.
“What new development has the HRDC brought for renewed commitment to Malawians that it is not the baby of the MCP?” questions Bakili Muluzi TV.
He said the budget government is using today is for the MCP including K3.4 trillion was stolen from government coffers to buy maheu in just 3 months to the 16th September, 2025 elections advising Malawians to judge Professor Mutharika from this budget Minister of Finance Joseph Mwanamvekha has presented in Parliament.
