Minister of Education, Science and Technology Bright Msaka has stressed that professionalism and effective use of technology are key ingredients for unlocking opportunities and building successful careers.
Speaking on Thursday during the 5th graduation ceremony of Lake Malawi Anglican University (LAMAU) in Lilongwe, Msaka said adherence to work policies and regulations remains vital for graduates who want to be trusted and respected in their fields.
He explained that employers and the general public place confidence in professionals who demonstrate discipline, reliability and ethical conduct.
Msaka also highlighted the transformative role technology continues to play in the education sector, noting that digital tools are making learning more accessible to students across the country.
He said technology will remain a permanent part of the education landscape, enabling many people to pursue their studies through both physical and online platforms.
The Minister emphasised that online learning offers expanded opportunities for individuals who may be unable to attend classes in person due to distance, work commitments or other constraints.
Msaka reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting private higher learning institutions, acknowledging their vital role in complementing state efforts to expand and strengthen the education sector.
He said private investors continue to play a crucial role in widening access to tertiary education and promoting academic innovation.
Chancellor of LAMAU, Right Reverend Daniel Kalonga, pledged to uphold and improve the university’s academic standards to ensure its continued reputation as a respected institution of higher learning.
He said the university remains committed to producing graduates who are well equipped to contribute meaningfully to national development.
A total of 176 students were awarded degrees from various faculties during this year’s graduation ceremony.
