A voiceless citizen of Malawi who for four relentless years stood on the frontline against the ill governance of the MCP Comrade Alhaji Imraan Jumbe, has advised President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika and the DPP not to ignore the footsteps that carried them to the mountain.

Comrade Jumbe said leadership without loyalty to its fighters is weak, politics built on forgotten sacrifices is temporary saying the DPP should not be surprised when the mountain begins to shaky, all this is because the footsteps that carried them to the mountain have been ignored.

He said there is no pain greater in politics than betrayal through silence saying the pain of being remembered during struggle and forgotten during victory is great pain advising the DPP to choose whether it wants to govern with people or above the people.

Speaking through his face book page, Comrade Jumbe who for 4 years of the MCP led government has worked day and night without salaries, contracts, or protection, used the only weapon available to him- the mightier pen, has advised the DPP that fighters are demanding the change of heart, victory without gratitude is hollow.

Comrade Jumbe said this is the pain now carried by many patriots- genuine activists and journalists who sacrificed to die for the liberation of Malawi from the shackles of MCP and President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera’s dictatorial activities.

Jumbe said the patriots fought a long war sacrificed comfort, safety, and time so that Malawi could be rescued from poor governance saying he exposed failures, challenged injustices, and mobilized thoughts in defense of the people and the nation.

Together with many unsung comrades; Hon. Kamlepo Kalua, Bon Kalindo, Lytone Mangochi, Pastor Moses Shumba, Bishop Kachenje, Bakili Muluzi TV, Ntanyiwa, Burnett Munthali, Suleman Chitera, Jones Gadama, and many others, Jumbe significantly contributed to the victory of the DPP.

He said today, many of those who fought hardest have been abandoned, no recognition, no engagement, no word of gratitude lamenting that calls to DPP ministers go un answered, and messages are being ignored.

“The very voices that defended the party when it was weak, are now treated as ‘noise” because power has been secured, this as not only painful- it is politically dangerous,” said Comrade Jumbe.

He said greed, arrogance, and selective loyalty have destroyed governments before and they will destroy others again observing that the downfall of any government does not begin at the Ballot Box- it begins when it abandons its base.

The activist has reminded the DPP that a party that forgets those who defended it during oppression, slowly cuts off its own roots and when the roots are cut, the tree may stand for a while, but it will surely fall.

He said power does not belong to ministers, offices or State House, power belongs to the people advising those in leadership to remember that yesterday’s ignored comrades can become tomorrow’s disappointed critics.

Comrade Jumbe said History shows that disappointed patriots do not disappear – they realign saying the same pens that defended can also expose and the same voices that mobilized, can also warn reminding the DPP and Professor Mutharika that a government that choose arrogance over humility, and silence over engagement, lost legitimacy long before they lost elections- History remains the most honest teacher.
