The Defenders Group for Good Governance has accused the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) led government of being quiet saying this has given chance to the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) and a terrorist organization- HRDC to be holding press conferences of planning evil against them.

The Defenders Group said the 100 days of President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika in government could have been celebrated with many who have stolen billions of Kwachass from government coffers landing in the country’s prisons, but till this day, prisons are the same as of yesterday, those who stole billions are still swimming outside prisons.

The Group has questioned the DPP led government that what is it they are fearing from arresting and prosecuting MCP thieves for Malawians to know reminding them of yesterday when the same MCP effected arrests on them with no evidences on the table.

Speaking through an audio clip, Comrade D. Phiri has observed that the HRDC which was seeming to be quiet from 2020 to 2025 under President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera is now back from where they have been hiding ready to be holding demonstrations in the country.

Phiri said the HRDC was not quite during President Chakwera’s reign claiming that it was the one which was terrorizing and hacking innocent people in the country in a quest for President Chakwera to bounce back into government while its senior leaders were the ones who were quiet.

He has reminded DPP of the pain its members suffered at the Mbowe filling station in Lilongwe, Mponela including the torching of its minibus, civil servants who were hacked in Lilongwe questioning them that is it true that they have found no case to arrest and prosecute these MCP culprits?

The activist has reminded the DPP government that MCP thieves stole billions of Kwachas through Covid-19 pandemic, Salima Sugar company, NEEF, Brigin Foundation, Greenbelt Authority, K3.4 trillion in just three months to the 16th September, 2025 elections shooting the country’s debts to K28 trillion from K4.1 trillion they left in June, 2020.

H has questioned the DPP why are Malawians paying more taxes to pay back for what MCP has destroyed the country claiming that he does not see a good reason for Malawians to pay for the sins committed by MCP thieves, advising President Mutharika to confiscate their property and offer it for sale.

“As activists, we have spoken and spoken but you don’t listen to us, you are letting these crocodiles to be warming in the sun and tomorrow, they will be on you and we will all be killed,” said Phiri.

He has thanked Deputy Minister for Homeland Security Norman Paulosi Chisale for visiting Mchinji Border post to appreciate the level of corruption done by officers who are letting MCP maize passing through to Zambia advising him to visit other border posts as well.

Phiri said for 5 years of President Chakwera and his MCP government, Malawians have suffered for no maize in the country questioning where was this maize MCP was hiding advising government not to let MCP maize go outside the country, they should roast it here in Malawi.

He has finally assured the DPP government and President Professor Mutharika that genuine activists and journalists who refused to be silenced by MCP stolen money from government, are all awake and they will do their best to make sure that MCP never and ever rule the country anymore and if it is ruling the country, it will be from the grave.
