Bakili Muluzi TV online television station, says President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika cannot change things which President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera and his MCP led government destroyed in five years in one day.
Bakili Muluzi TV said some other people are still questioning in their hearts that Professor Mutharika has not delivered in his four months stay in government since he was elected into office on the 16th September, 2025 elections.
He said Malawians of goodwill are speaking that President Professor Mutharika has delivered in four months more than what President Chakwera delivered in five years claiming that the most tangible project delivered by President Chakwera is the Bridgin Foundation which the MCP will implement it in 4040.
The activist said Malawi is a maize economy meaning that maize is a political crop for Malawi but the MCP government of President Chakwera turned maize as a cash crop saying this is why for five years, maize was very expensive at the local market and was not affordable.
He said President Professor Mutharika has not only reverted maize to a political food crop but reducing its price from K100,000 per 50 Kilogram bag to as below as K50,000 making those households that were sleeping with empty stomachs having hope for a better tomorrow.
Bakili Muluzi TV said at the time Professor Mutharika was ousted from government in June, 2020 inflation was 9 percent and in five years of President Chakwera and his MCP government, inflation rose to 29 percent.
He said when Professor Mutharika won government in September, 2025 he found inflation at 29 percent and in just four months in government, inflation is now at 24 percent and it is being projected that by the end of the year, 2026 it will be at 21 percent.
The activist said now comes Atupele Muluzi commenting on President Professor Mutharika’s SONA that it is not addressing the challenges Malawians are facing in their everyday life situations considering the skyrocketing prices of commodities.
“Atupele Muluzi is not the right person to comment on the challenges Malawians are going through, every time he loses elections, he flew outside the country to China for his businesses,” said Bakili Muluzi TV.
He said for five years, people of Machinga were eating wild bushes (chitedze) as a staple food replacing maize, Atupele Muluzi was quiet, he sided with President Chakwera and the MCP government praising it for servant leadership.
The activist said people of Machinga are now eating maize flour, they are no longer sleeping with empty stomachs as they were during the reign of President Chakwera and the MCP government and they are praising Professor Mutharika’s proven leadership.
Bakili Muluzi TV has finally advised Atupele Muluzi that if he has nothing to speak on Mutharika’s SONA, he should just keep quiet reminding him that he has been quiet during Chakwera’s reign while Malawians were sailing through pain and sufferings.
