Fellow Malawians,
Recent developments surrounding the Amaryllis Hotel transaction have raised serious questions among citizens about how public resources are being managed and whether sufficient transparency and accountability are being upheld. This moment calls for reflection and responsible civic engagement.
Malawi belongs to all of us. Whenever concerns arise regarding the use of public funds, citizens have both the right and the responsibility to demand openness, accountability, and integrity from those entrusted with managing national resources.
It is in this spirit that I call upon all patriotic Malawians — the youth, civil society organizations, professionals, farmers, business people, students, and religious leaders — to come together and participate in a peaceful national Anti-Corruption Demonstration.
The purpose of this demonstration is to peacefully raise public awareness and demand accountability on several matters of national concern, including:
- The Amaryllis Hotel transaction
- The management and distribution of Mega Farm Loans
- The operations and transparency of NEEF loans
This demonstration will be conducted peacefully, lawfully, and respectfully, in line with the Constitution of Malawi, which guarantees every citizen the right to assemble and express their views.
Our message is clear and simple:
- Malawi’s resources must serve Malawians.
- Public funds must be protected.
- Accountability must apply equally to everyone.
Let this be a moment where citizens stand together against corruption and reaffirm the values of integrity, transparency, and responsible leadership.
I therefore encourage all Malawians who believe in justice, accountability, and good governance to take part.
Corruption must not define our nation.
Together, let us stand for accountability and build a better Malawi for present and future generations.
