Political activist Bon Kalindo, has appealed to government to address problems pensioners in Malawi are sailing through claiming that these pensioners are finding it hard to access their money.
Kalindo has expressed his great concern over some companies which are failing to remit money to insurance companies claiming that when pensioners go to these insurance companies, they are being told that there’s no money for them describing this as punishing pensioners.Bon Kalindo: Anti-Corruption Efforts Must Be Evidence-Based
He has asked the authorities to wear a human face by imagining where these pensioners are coming from and to be told that there’s no money for them, how are they feeling in their hearts?
Speaking through an audio clip, Kalindo said many pensioners are in pain and suffering for not accessing their money after they worked for years reaching at retirement age.
Kalindo said for all the years they have been working, contributions were being made towards pension schemes and when they reach retirement age, they must be given all of their money.Kalindo thanks Mutharika for Chilima’s death fresh inquiry
” Some are dying without accessing their money, some are sick, they have no money to buy medicines or take them to the hospital, but they contributed to Pension Scheme,” he said.
Kalindo said he would have loved pensioners choose for themselves to take their money or leave it saying it is their right as they are living in a country of democracy.
In the audio clip, Kalindo has joined teachers who have been missing from the payroll from December, 2025 appealing to government to rescue them from sufferings.Kalindo calls DPP to do sole – searching on electricity blackouts
Kalindo said he know what it takes to be a teacher claiming that teachers are being looked down as it they made no contributions to the development of this country.
