Democratic Progressive Party vice-president for the south Kondwani Nankhumwa, has appealed to leaders of the party to stop fabricating lies that he has been removed from the position. He said he can only be removed from the party through an elective convention.
Nankhumwa held a rally today at Nyambadwe Primary School Ground in Blantyre together with other party officials including secretary general Grezelder Jeffrey.
While he said he has been given support by the numerous party leaders as the party’s vice-president for the southern region, he pointed out that it has been a mixed bag, especially on how he has managed to carry out his duties.

He made claims that there are numerous leaders within the party that have tried to block him. He specifically mentioned the party’s administrative secretary Francis Mphepo as one of those leaders.
Nankhumwa further said some of the party members have also linked him to the Malawi Congress Party and UTM Party in a bid to discredit his leadership.
