Finance Minister, Sosten Gwengwe has refuted latest reports that International Monetary Fund-IMF will not provide Malawi with an Extended Credit Facility-ECF.
Gwengwe says the reports have been misrepresented in the local media; claiming this has also worried the IMF officials who are in the country on the ECF’s discussion mission.

He has made the sentiments at the Government Faces the Press briefing dubbed “Unpacking UNGA Successes.”
According to Gwengwe, IMF is working tirelessly in its bid to see the country moving out of economic challenges it is sailing in now.
