Lewandowski explains the difference between Flick’s Barcelona and Xavi’s Barcelona

Barcelona’s stunning start to the season has only been possible thanks to an all-round effort from the squad.

Of the various players in Hansi Flick’s plans, however, Robert Lewandowski is one of the most imporoved.

The striker, who was far from his best last season, appears rejuvenated and currently leads the league’s goal-scoring charts.

Back to his best and raring to go, the veteran is currently on international duty and will participate in the team’s games against Scotland and Croatia over the next two weeks.

Lewandowski talks Flick, Xavi

Speaking to the media on duty with the Polish National Team, the Pichichi leader was asked what had changed under Hansi Flick that made the team so much more cohesive on the field compared to last season.

“It’s something different, it shows, we didn’t have a game like this last season,” he started, admitting via SPORT that there was a stark chance.

“As Hansi said from the beginning, he wants to create an offensive team that generates opportunities, scores many goals and that presses well,” he added on the new manager’s approach.

While the team has got off to the perfect start, Lewandowski refused to delve too much into the topic citing that there are early days and that consistency would matter more.

“We started well, sometimes we stumble and sometimes we get it right but the season is long, many things can still happen.”

Lewandowski has four goals to his name in just four La Liga games and even provided one assist against Real Valladolid.

Further, he has created two big chances, averages 1.2 key passes per game and has even missed four big chances – an indication of how frequently he is getting into good positions
