Malawian musicians Piksy and Saint are set to headline the inaugural Starlight Session, scheduled for November 10, 2024, at Amaryllis Hotel’s Stakeout Bar in Blantyre. The much-anticipated event is designed to celebrate artists who have consistently remained relevant in Malawi’s music scene.
Speaking about the event on Monday, Tinkhani Phiri, the coordinator of the Starlight Session, expressed excitement about the initiative. “The idea is to have sessions annually that feature artists who have remained relevant for years and have produced hits that have withstood the test of time,” Phiri said. He highlighted both Piksy and Saint as musicians who have been in the industry for a while and have delivered timeless hits, making them the perfect choice for the inaugural session.

Piksy and Saint, known for their unique styles and hit tracks, have continued to capture the hearts of Malawian audiences. Their presence in this event underscores their influence in the music industry and sets the tone for future Starlight Sessions.
Phiri revealed that this is just the beginning, with plans to extend the sessions to other major cities, including Lilongwe and Mzuzu, in the near future. This will give more fans across Malawi the opportunity to experience the exciting live performances and celebrate their favorite local artists.
To make the event even more accessible and innovative, Starlight has partnered with Softnet, an IT company that will manage ticket sales through an online platform. Phiri explained that tickets will only be available digitally via Pamtsika Online, eliminating the need for physical outlets. “There will be no physical ticketing,” Phiri emphasized. “When people click on the event poster link, they’ll be directed to payment options, and their tickets will be sent to their email or phone.”
This move towards digital ticketing reflects the growing trend of using technology to streamline event management and enhance the customer experience in Malawi.
As excitement builds for the inaugural Starlight Session, fans can expect a memorable night of music, with Piksy and Saint taking center stage in what promises to be an unforgettable celebration of Malawian talent.
