Founder of Goshen City, Prophet Shepherd Bushiri, has pledged a significant K15 million donation towards the Southern Region Press Club (SRPC) Cooperative, reaffirming his commitment to empowering local communities and supporting sustainable economic initiatives.
Bushiri made the announcement on Friday evening during the SRPC Cooperative Fundraising Dinner and Dance held in Blantyre, where journalists, business leaders and other stakeholders gathered to support the cooperative’s growth ambitions.“Prophet Bushiri Ignites Rural Football Talent with K20 Million Mega Talent Hunt in Dowa!
Speaking at the event, Bushiri commended journalists in the Southern Region for taking bold steps towards economic independence through collective investment and entrepreneurship.
“I am impressed by the vision demonstrated by members of the Southern Region Press Club. Instead of relying solely on their profession, they have chosen to invest in projects that can transform their economic future. This is the kind of mindset that builds strong and prosperous communities,” said Bushiri.Shepherd Bushiri Foundation Talent Hunt Excites Machinga as Young Footballers Target Dedza Dynamos Slots
The philanthropist and entrepreneur also challenged young people across Malawi to abandon the culture of constantly criticizing successful individuals and instead focus on building their own futures through hard work, discipline and networking.
“Success is not achieved through criticism but through dedication, building meaningful relationships, creating opportunities and maintaining financial discipline. Young people must channel their energy into productive ventures that can improve their lives,” he said.
Receiving the donation, SRPC President Ronald Amos expressed gratitude to Bushiri for the generous support, describing the contribution as a major boost to the cooperative’s long-term development agenda.HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Shepherd Bushiri – A life of impact, faith and generosity
Amos said the funds will help accelerate the cooperative’s plans to expand into large-scale poultry farming, a project that has already commenced and is expected to create sustainable income for members.
“This support comes at a critical time and will go a long way in helping us realize our vision of building a strong and self-reliant cooperative for journalists in the Southern Region,” Amos said.
The Southern Region Press Club Cooperative forms part of broader efforts by the media fraternity to strengthen economic resilience among journalists. Beyond the cooperative, SRPC boasts a membership of over 100 journalists and operates a successful village bank, with plans underway to establish Mtolankhani Savings and Credit Cooperative (SACCO).Emmie Deebo Partners with Prophet Shepherd Bushiri to Support Malawian Students
