Wisdom Chimgwede, a parliamentary candidate for the Kasungu Municipality constituency, has called on residents in the area to reject tribal divisions, urging unity for the development of the region.
Speaking at a meeting with the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) committee in Kasungu Municipality, Chimgwede emphasized the importance of unity across tribal lines, saying, “Pointing fingers and labeling others as Chewa or Yao will not help our community grow. Let us work together for development.”
The chairperson of the MCP committee for the area, Charles Timothy Chisasa, welcomed Chimgwede’s remarks and affirmed the committee’s commitment to working alongside him.
Kasungu Municipality is one of the newly established constituencies, created during the recent boundary restructuring by the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) as part of efforts to enhance local governance.
