UTM Party leader Dalitso Kabambe has declared that his party is poised for a major victory in the upcoming September 16 general elections, predicting a strong showing in the National Assembly.
Speaking in Mzuzu during a certificate presentation ceremony for parliamentary and councilor candidates from the northern region, Kabambe said UTM’s internal research gives them confidence that most of their candidates will win.
“Before we endorsed these candidates, we conducted thorough research. The findings showed that we have selected people with a high chance of success. I strongly believe that out of the 228 constituencies, UTM will win no fewer than 150 parliamentary seats,” Kabambe told the gathering.

During the ceremony, 34 parliamentary candidates out of the 38 constituencies in the northern region received their nomination certificates. Kabambe assured supporters that UTM is on track to field candidates in the remaining four constituencies.
Kabambe emphasized that UTM’s goal is to have representation in every constituency across the country, signaling the party’s readiness to challenge for a majority in parliament.
