United Democratic Front (UDF) President Atupele Muluzi has called on residents of Mangochi to register in large numbers for the upcoming 2025 General Elections. Speaking to an enthusiastic crowd at M’baluku Trading Centre, Muluzi emphasized the importance of choosing visionary leaders committed to Malawi’s development.
“I want you to register and vote for development-conscious leaders like myself. I see a great future if you usher UDF back into government because we have a good economic recovery plan,” Muluzi told the crowd.
In his address, the UDF leader highlighted his party’s preparedness to revitalize the country’s economy. He outlined the need for policies that promote growth, create jobs, and improve the living standards of all Malawians. Muluzi assured his supporters that his leadership would focus on tangible development projects, especially in regions like Mangochi, which have often felt left out of national development agendas.
Muluzi also made it clear that the UDF would not enter into alliances with any political parties this time around.
“But I will form an alliance with Malawians,” he declared. “I am sure I will win the next elections because people want change, and I will bring change.”
This statement marks a significant shift in UDF’s approach, given its history of forming alliances with other political parties during previous elections. Muluzi’s focus on directly engaging with the electorate underscores his confidence in the party’s ability to win the hearts of Malawians.
The crowd at M’baluku Trading Centre responded warmly to Muluzi’s message, with many expressing hope that his leadership could bring the change they desire. The call for registration is particularly timely as the country gears up for the voter registration process, a critical step in ensuring active participation in the democratic process.
As the 2025 General Elections approach, Muluzi’s direct appeal to the people of Mangochi signals UDF’s determination to regain its position as a leading political force in Malawi. With promises of economic recovery and a focus on grassroots engagement, Muluzi aims to capture the confidence of the electorate across the country.
