Ben Longwe shares concerns with the suffering Malawians

Human Rights Advocator Charles Ben Longwe, says it is good for him to be arrested by police in defense of the suffering Malawians than to be forced to speak that things are good in Malawi just to praise the MCP and its leadership.

Ben Longwe said he is not part of the group that is singing praise songs for President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera and the MCP that he has developed the country while Malawians are in pain and suffering for skyrocketing prices of essential goods happening every day and without control.

He said if Malawians sees him praising the MCP government that things in Malawi are good in “Boma ndilomweli silikuchoka” Malawians will insult and castigate him left and right saying as the writings are on the wall, it is safe for him to be in prison than praising President Chakwera for being a deliverer.

Speaking through his Hard knocks programme, Ben Longwe said he cannot be happy to be saying “Boma ndilomweli” while many Malawians are sleeping with empty stomachs, the country has no fuel, forex, medicines claiming that fertilizer which was at K18,000 is now K145,000 and maize has reached K70,000 per 50 Kilogram bag.

Ben Longwe has assured the police that since they are being told who and who to arrest, he is ready to be arrested for his words that things are not good in Malawi claiming that 20 million plus citizens in Malawi are his witnesses to testify in court.

He said Malawi has no Rule of Law and if there is one, it is on paper claiming that Bon Kalindo has over 15 court bail in his pockets and Comrade Lytone Mangochi was arrested in his pajamas in Karonga and granted court bail in Mzuzu questioning Malawians that is this the Rule of Law?

The activist has noted with grave concern that a loaf of bread which was being sold at K300 is now K3,000 asking Malawians what will happen by the end of the two coming months, is this the Malawi wokomela wonse that was being preached about by President Chakwera?

“Malawians cannot go like this, we are demanding President Chakwera to address us on what is happening in Malawi as Malawians are living in a country where the leaders are not giving them any hope for the better tomorrow,” said Longwe.

He has announced to the nation that very soon the country will be closed for three day’s peaceful demonstrations with no business for President Chakwera to know that Malawi is a country of over 20 million plus citizens and demanding Minister of Information Moses Kunkuyu to release the Black Box.

Longwe has warned President Chakwera that if the 3 day’s closure of the country will be nothing to him, Malawians will be going into the streets protesting until he comes back to his senses to address them praising USA President Donald Trump for taking the right gear for African countries to wake-up.

He has finally urged the country’s authorities to open more prisons, time has now come for the youth to wake-up advising President Chakwera that his power is ending on 23rd June, 2025 for an interim government to oversee the elections in September, 2025 appealing to all activists who are real to wake-up not for money but for the liberation of their country.
