Nyasulu Urges Unity Among NRFA Members

The newly elected chairperson of the Northern Region Football Association (NRFA) Masiya Nyasulu has called on district association members to put aside their differences and work together to develop football in the region.

The election was marred by controversy, with some district associations boycotting the meeting in support of rival candidate Chauka Mwasinga.

In his acceptance speech, Nyasulu emphasized the need to focus on programs aimed at developing football in the region, in line with the Football Association of Malawi’s transformative football agenda.

He however, cautioned those fuelling petty bickering to either bury their differences or choose to remain rebellious.

“Now that the elections are behind, we must swiftly put aside our electoral differences and focus on implementing the programs outlined in Malawi’s football transformation agenda, as we work together to build our beautiful game,” Nyasulu emphasized.

FAM executive committee member Felistas Dossi described the elections as free, fair, and credible, despite the boycott by some delegates.

“You may wish to note that some members chose to remain outside the venue during the elections, which we consider a mere abscondment rather than an absence. Importantly, this did not affect the integrity of the elections, which were declared free, fair, and credible,” said Dossi.

But Dossi noted that those feeling aggrieved could lodge official complaints with the Football Association of Malawi in writing.
