DPP’s Sameer Suleman warns Chakwera and MCP over corruption and political intimidation
By Burnett Munthali
At the Nancholi Rally, Honourable Sameer Suleman, MP and National Organising Secretary of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), delivered a strong warning to President Lazarus Chakwera and corrupt officials within the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) government.
Suleman declared that by September, those responsible for corruption and abuse of power would be held accountable and face justice.
He accused Chakwera and his corrupt MCP officials of secretly acquiring properties in Dubai in preparation to flee once they lose power.
However, Suleman vowed that these officials would not escape justice, stating that he would track them down, have them arrested, and recover the stolen wealth for the benefit of Malawians.
Sending a direct message to the MCP, Suleman made it clear that the DPP would not tolerate intimidation from the ruling party.
He also issued a stern warning to Chakwera, stating that the DPP would not allow the arrest or assassination of His Excellency Prof. Arthur Peter Mutharika.

He reminded Malawians of the MCP’s historical record of eliminating political opponents, but assured them that those days of oppression and persecution were over.
Suleman firmly stated that the DPP would stand strong and would not allow “Adadi” (Mutharika) to be arrested or harmed under any circumstances.
He also expressed concerns over Malawi’s rising debt, highlighting that it had skyrocketed to K19 trillion under Chakwera’s administration, compared to less than K4 trillion five years ago.
Suleman questioned where all the borrowed money had gone, arguing that there is no visible development to justify such massive loans.
He boldly claimed that the money had been stolen and diverted into private investments, including the construction of lodges and hotels in Malawi and abroad.
With these allegations, Suleman painted a picture of an MCP government riddled with corruption, mismanagement, and economic failures, reinforcing the DPP’s stance against Chakwera’s leadership.
As political tensions escalate ahead of the next election, his remarks have set the stage for a heated contest between the DPP and MCP, with the battle for accountability and justice at the forefront.
