TNM Launches Music Star Search: K120 Million Prize and Car to Transform Malawi’s Creative Industry

TNM PLC has officially entered the entertainment space with the launch of its Music Star Search, a nationwide talent platform aimed at discovering and nurturing Malawi’s next generation of musical stars. The initiative, which comes with a grand prize of a car and K120 million, marks a major shift by the telecom giant from sports sponsorship to the creative arts sector.

Speaking during the launch, TNM PLC Chief Commercial Officer Amon Jere said the company is opening a new chapter that goes beyond traditional sponsorships, positioning music as a key driver of youth empowerment and national development.Dowa Council appreciates support from TNM Mpamba services

“This is a national platform that will discover extraordinary talent in places many have never looked at. It will give a voice to the unheard, a stage to the unseen, and an opportunity to those whose dreams have waited for a chance,” said Jere.

According to TNM, the Music Star Search is designed to reach aspiring artists across Malawi, particularly those in underserved communities where access to recording opportunities and industry exposure remains limited. The program is expected to include auditions, mentorship, and performance showcases, ultimately culminating in the selection of a national winner.

Government has also welcomed the initiative, describing the creative industry as a growing pillar of economic development.
