President Lazarus Chakwera has finally broken his silence on the controversy surrounding his alleged remarks about shedding blood.
In an exclusive revelation, Chakwera clarified that his words were taken out of context and were meant to pressure the international community to support his presidential bid.
According to sources close to the President, Chakwera expressed frustration over being misinterpreted and misrepresented by his critics.
He acknowledged that he had indeed made statements about shedding blood, but emphasized that these were mere rhetorical devices aimed at highlighting his determination to bring about change in Malawi.
“I was tired of the DPP’s misrule, and I wanted to convey my commitment to bringing about a new era of leadership,” Chakwera explained. “My words were never meant to be taken literally, but rather as a metaphor for my unwavering resolve to fight for the future of our nation.”
Chakwera also addressed concerns about his plans for the future, stating categorically that he intends to remain President until 2030.
When asked about the possibility of shedding blood during his presidency, Chakwera was unequivocal: “No, I will not shed blood. Instead, I will use my power to suppress the DPP’s attempts to undermine our democracy and progress.”
The President’s remarks are likely to spark intense debate and discussion among Malawians, with some hailing his clarification as a welcome move towards transparency and accountability.
Others, however, may remain skeptical, questioning the President’s motives and the timing of his revelation.
