Jumah claims Malawi is at the crossroads without direction

By Vincent Gunde

Pan-African and Revolutionary leader Bantu Saunders Jumah, has claimed that Malawi is at the cross roads not knowing which way to go, this is a country that has created and imposed a system of corruption, looting, patronage and elitism.

Jumah said Malawi is a country whose system has become a benchmark and a tradition where its people know no justice, no truth, no accountability, and no transparency saying 61 years down the line, citizens are itching to go to the polls to elect “Business as usual” of enriching the elites.

He said the country’s vast resources and fertile soil have not benefited the 21 million plus citizens in its history for 61 years observing that Tanzania, Mozambique, and Zambia have managed to change their social and economic trajectory, Malawi has remained stationed or static.

Writing in his Revolutionary statement, Jumah has advised Malawians that the challenge and biggest problem is leadership and administrative system observing that many political parties and groups are gathering or positioning themselves for a seat in government without realizing the root cause of the country’s problem.

Jumah said alliance discussions are at its peak with political parties planning to create a joint government without a clear solution over how and why Malawi remains static saying some other people in their opinion feel going back into the past is the best solution.

He said other people are feeling that the status quo is the best option reminding Malawians that civilization was born because of the future and if the world chose the past, people could have remained in the Stone Age period.

“There was no future in the past, Malawi will realize her dreams only by one path-moving into the future saying the past has been of tribalism, nepotism, regionalism and corruption,” said Jumah.

He said the present is faced with challenges of rampant corruption, looting, and self-enrichment, cronyism, favoritism, indecisiveness and watching saying the future demands ending all these challenges so that Malawians venture into the future without the aforementioned challenges that defines the past.

Jumah has appealed to 7.2 million citizens who registered to go and make a choice of the new government on the 16th September, 2025 that they are not only going to exercise their birthright but they are going to shape the future of this country.
