Employees of Deloitte Malawi on Thursday, 15th May 2025, took time off their regular corporate duties to give back to the community through a volunteer initiative held at the AquaAid Lifeline-Namisu Skills Training Centre in Lunzu, Blantyre.
The volunteer effort was part of the company’s 40-hour Volunteer Policy, which encourages staff members to dedicate time annually to support impactful community projects.
The staff actively engaged in various activities at the centre, contributing their skills and time to support the training centre’s operations and outreach efforts.
Managing Partner for Deloitte Malawi, Christopher Kapenda, highlighted that the firm’s overarching mission is to “make an impact that matters.”
He emphasized that the volunteer initiative served as a demonstration of Deloitte’s ongoing commitment to corporate social responsibility and community development.
“This initiative is to showcase our commitment to social responsibility and community development, providing a valuable opportunity for employees to make a positive impact in the community,” Kapenda said.
The AquaAid Lifeline-Namisu Skills Training Centre offers vocational and life skills to vulnerable youth, and the support from Deloitte employees was warmly welcomed by the management and beneficiaries of the centre.
The event not only strengthened Deloitte’s community engagement but also inspired a spirit of service and solidarity among its employees.
