Team Malawi’s athletes in the Special Olympics Women’s category have made the nation proud at the ongoing African Union Sports Council (AUSC) Region 5 Youth Games in Swakopmund, Namibia.
Tiyanjane Henry and Nancy Verani shone brightly in their respective heats, taking first positions in heats one and three.
Tiyanjane clocked an impressive time of 15 minutes and 05 seconds, showcasing determination and strength on the track.
Her teammate, Nancy Verani, followed suit with a faster finish of 14 minutes and 06 seconds, further underlining Malawi’s strong presence in the Special Olympics competition.
Their stellar performances come as a major highlight for Team Malawi at this prestigious regional event.
The AUSC Region 5 Youth Games continue to serve as a platform for young athletes across Southern Africa to display their talent, resilience, and competitive spirit.
Tiyanjane and Verani’s victories reflect the growing depth of Malawi’s Special Olympics program and the importance of inclusivity in sport.
