Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Vice President for the Eastern Region, Bright Msaka, has called on the people of Mangochi to champion peace during the upcoming campaign season as the nation prepares for the crucial September 16 elections.

Speaking in Chimbende, Lutende area, Msaka urged residents to defy negative stereotypes by showing Malawi that Mangochi is a district of peace and order—not violence. “Let this district be a shining example to others,” he said.
He emphasized that only the DPP, under the leadership of Peter Mutharika, has the capacity to rescue Malawians from the current economic hardships, citing the skyrocketing prices of fertilizer, sugar, and fuel.
“The DPP government will bring back stability and affordability. That’s why we need to stay calm and campaign with dignity,” Msaka told the crowd.
Echoing his sentiments, aspiring Member of Parliament for the area, Overton Imedi, rallied supporters to unite and work hard to bring the DPP back into power. “Together, we can restore the party and rebuild our country,” he said.
With campaign fever rising, DPP’s call for peace and unity is setting the tone for what could be a defining election for Malawi.
