Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) presidential running-mate for the September 16 General Elections, Jane Ansah, has pledged that once voted back into power, the party’s president, Peter Mutharika, will initiate a full-scale economic recovery.

She said this during a whistle-stop campaign tour in the Lower Shire at Marka in Nsanje District.

Ansah added that a renewed DPP government will also launch robust governance reforms.

She emphasized that rural development activities will be rolled out with a focus on prioritizing the poor.

“Prices of basic goods and services have skyrocketed.

Foreign exchange is a nightmare and fuel shortages are rampant.

These are the direct consequences of policies that are hostile to Malawians,” she said.

Ansah assured the public that once the DPP is voted into power on September 16, things will change for the better.

Her campaign tour in Marka highlighted the party’s commitment to addressing the economic hardships faced by Malawians.

By engaging directly with residents, Ansah aimed to demonstrate the party’s understanding of the challenges affecting ordinary citizens.

The promise of economic recovery, governance reforms, and targeted rural development forms the cornerstone of the DPP’s campaign messaging in the region.
